Unlocking Audience Growth Through Inclusion-led Strategy

We build a strategic action plan focused on inclusion with clear and tangible outcomes. We identified the film company’s opportunity to take a leadership role and diversify its audiences, approaches and content via new platforms.

The Challenge

As a leading European film and television studio, StudioCanal was looking ahead to its next phase of growth. Audience expectations were shifting, platforms were fragmenting, and relevance increasingly depended on whose stories were being told and how.

StudioCanal recognised the opportunity to take a clearer leadership position: diversifying audiences, approaches, and content in ways that would strengthen creative ambition and commercial reach. To do that, inclusion needed to be embedded into systems, strategy, and decision-making, not treated as a parallel initiative.

Our Role

We partnered with StudioCanal as a strategic advisor to embed Inclusion-led Relevance into the organisation’s operating model - using workforce insight as a catalyst for audience growth and future content strategy.

Our role was to surface what already existed inside the organisation, translate it into strategic clarity, and align leadership around a shared direction for growth.

What We Delivered

Following an Unpack → Untangle → Unlock approach:

  • Organisational diagnostic
We captured the voice of over 75% of the workforce through a combination of:

    • Strategy and process review

    • Organisation-wide inclusion survey

    • 15+ leadership interviews

    • Listening sessions with 35 colleagues

  • This ensured the strategy was grounded in lived reality, not leadership assumption.

  • Opportunity assessment
Insight was synthesised to identify where StudioCanal had the strongest opportunities to lead—across audiences, content, platforms, and internal ways of working.

  • Strategic action plan
A clear, prioritised roadmap translated insight into action—aligning leadership around practical next steps to diversify creative approaches and unlock future growth.

The Impact

  • Colleague voice meaningfully surfaced and connected to strategic decision-making

  • Stronger leadership alignment around inclusion as a driver of growth and relevance

  • A shared, future-facing roadmap to guide content, audience, and platform strategy

Inclusion shifted from an aspiration to a strategic organising principle, supporting StudioCanal’s ambition to lead creatively in a changing global market.

“The Unmistakables used this insight to work closely with our leadership team—shaping recommendations into a clear roadmap for the future of the organisation.
Their inside-out approach connected key stakeholders and helped us articulate how inclusion can support a more ambitious future for both our internal culture and external audiences.”
