Creating equitable communications with WaterAid
We equitably co-created a communications policy and toolkit to create a clear and consistent approach to portraying the communities WaterAid works with in a dignified and respectful way.
The challenge
The global marketing and communications team at WaterAid wanted to ensure their approach to language and imagery around the world was inclusive and created in an equitable way. They came to us as partners to guide them through a co-creation process.
Our response
Working with local teams and content creators, we assessed existing marketing processes and identified opportunities to embed inclusivity and new ways of thinking. We used this approach to inform a new global toolkit and representation in communications policy, created with markets, not just for them.
What we delivered
A market-leading representation in communications policy <https://www.wateraid.org/uk/sites/g/files/jkxoof211/files/2023-09/Representation_in_Communications_Policy.pdf>
